Tracking down these photos.

Ok.  Here's the deal.  These photos went up on Military Photos.net and went down just as quickly.  I don't know why, I don't know if these are spoofs, I just don't know.  I went here, the website whose name is scrawled over the pics but can't find them anywhere on the site.

My question to anyone is this...are these real?  If so why haven't the Israeli's released them?

D.E. Reddick sent this link http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/showthread.php?180660-Mavi-Marmara-former-US-marine-and-crying-Israeli-commando

Interesting.  The quote an EX-Marine who is making all kinds of silly statements.  This plot thickens.

  1. Well, it's no big surprise. Just speculation of course, but these pics show that the activists weren't the peace loving hippies they were portrait to be.
And since the Turkish PM uses this incident to boost his popularity (and Hurriyet being semi-state controlled) these pics show that the Israelis had good grounds to eventually use arms - purely in self-defense.

Great find Sol, you always have the good stuff :).

  4. Solomon,

See this thread over at MP.net. It features the comments of an Ex-Marine which connect with those pictures. It ain't nice.

  5. Solomon,

Having just re-visited that MP.net thread I read from an Israeli commenter that the IDF has stated that Ex-Marine Ken O'Keefe has connections to Hamas and was going to train Hamas militias upon arrival in Gaza. No English translation of that is available, as yet. If true, then he is clearly a traitor for supporting a US-declared terrorist organization. He seems to have been a recent resident of Hawaii (while an Irish national?). And the former should make him subject to indictment in the U.S. for his actions in an attempt to support Hamas.

  6. yeah D.E. I put this guy in pink cause he's pure pussy. it wouldn't hurt my feelings at all if a couple of IDF hard chargers hunted this bastard down and put two in the back of his head.

traitor, criminal, terrorist. he's all three.

  7. Solomon,

From that same thread, here's a source for some of the pictures. In the thread there is a comment about a knife being photoshoped from a picture. I haven't quite figured out that, as yet (well, if ever). Here's that pix link:

  8. Ken O'Keefe renounced his US citizenship & swore allegiance to the "Government of Hawaii". I don't know if it's just a pretend government or a government of sedition.

    "Human Shield Action to Iraq".

"Born in California, I renounced my American citizenship on March 1, 2001 in Vancouver Canada. I now proudly hold Irish, Hawaiian and Palestinian citizenship. although my ultimate allegiance is to all people and thus I am in truth a world citizen."

"In this choice we are guilty of conspiracy to expose the truth about the Zionist need for conflict; which explains why people of peace are unwelcome in the eyes of the Israeli Government."

"I have indeed sworn allegiance to the Lawful Government of Hawaii. This was done when my application for citizenship with this nation was filed in October 1999. This does not however mean that I have ill will towards the U.S. or its citizens."

  9. I suppose the knife mentioned having been in the pictures is the one seen in the lower right of this picture (or, maybe not). Anyhow, it's a higher resolution version of that shown above with the Turkish watermark (and the frightened, grimacing face of the IDF commando has been blacked out).

  10. ya know this perfectly illustrates my biggest fears with the spread of nonlethal weapons in military service.

they add to the fog. instead of going in hard and putting down any resistance brutally and effectively, they instead acted like a coast guard.

that wasn't their role and their commanders let them down.

i hope someone is fired at the very least. they put these men out and left them alone on a very short branch.

  11. This is a video report from Al-Jazeera with much of the content in Arabic. In it Ken O'keefe renounces his US citizenship and perhaps burns his US passport. His statements are in clear, American accented English. So, here's our humanitarian, pacifist 'hero' Ken O'k...

  13. Marcase,

    Thanks.

Going OT, have you heard anything new from Nederlands news sources about that purported arms smuggler MV RIM whose crew was taken in by HNLMS Johan de Witt (L801) off the coast of Somalia (after the crew took back their ship once their Somali pirate captors got into a shootout amongst themselves, with seven to ten pirates being killed)? Maybe the lack of news regarding it is due to the weekend, or is information disclosure being suppressed by EU NAVFOR or higher authorities? Just really curious, given that the ship is Libyan owned, North Korean flagged, and Syrian crewed (or, so such has been reported), and was purportedly smuggling armaments to someone in Yemen.

  14. Back to downed IDF commandos, a different knife, and a pool of blood. The imagery in the following link would appear to show that certain news agencies have been photoshoping out details of what actually occurred to those injured IDF commandos.

  15. Linedoggie, a senior member over at MP.net, has done an excellent job of pulling together the relevant imagery of what amounts to a whole HELL of a lot of image manipulation by a major international news agency. The imagery may appear familiar, but look carefully at what isn't there and what then is there...
