US Army's new advertising campaign. "A Symbol of Strength"

  1. Very interesting - in this nearly two and a half minutes long commercial, there is not a single Abrams Tank, not a single Bradley IFV, but lots and lots of helicopters, M-ATVs and MRAPs as well as soldiers on foot patrols... a sign of a changing identity for the US Army?

  2. wow. good eye on your part. i was stuck on trying to identify the different units....

but now that you mention it, you know what else you didnt see?

    not one STRYKER!

  3. Correct, no Stryker either. The Army in this commercial is a "wars amongst the people" Army, not a "we will tear down your country" Army. It is infantry centric and skills centric, and de-emphasises equipment and firepower (there is also not a single shot fired in this commercial.)

Another odd thing - since when did we see Maxxpro's attacking in a single line? (at 1:45)
