It has begun. The social issues are pushing Sailors out...

via the Washington Times...
A Navy F-18 fighter pilot and former Top Gun instructor is publicly warning admirals that retention is beginning to suffer from the military’s relentless social conditioning programs.
Cmdr. Guy Snodgrass, until recently a Pentagon speech writer for the chief of naval operations, Adm. Jonathan Greenert, said sailors are becoming fed-up with the constant emphasis on social issues — an apparent reference to gays in the military, women in combat and ending sexual harassment.
“Sailors continue to cite the over-focus on social issues by senior leadership, above and beyond discussions on war fighting — a fact that demoralizes junior and mid-grade officers alike,” Cmdr. Snodgrass wrote this month on the U.S. Naval Institute website, an independent forum for active and retired sailors and Marines.
If this is hitting the Navy then you know its wrecking the Marine Corps.

Social issues.

The Commandant and many who have never had the courage to wear the uniform called it a done deal.

The rank and file say otherwise.

  1. What I see in the UK is young men educated in a female and socialist dominated school system conditioned to say the current social programs within the forces are fair and we are better off for them without question.

The thing is in the peacetime services away from the very sharp end most jobs for most of the time could be done by anybody with reasonable health and reasonable intellect. The jobs for the most part parallel civilian life both in terms of workload and societal conditions.

BUT countries don't maintain militaries to cope with normal life. They maintain them for the extreme. The emergency. The breakdown of norms. That !% of the time. And to cope with those exceptional times you need exceptional organisations; that is exceptional from civilian society.

I am not sure about woman on the front line, haven't been for a while, and the older I get the less sure I get. But to voice that opinion is viewed as nearly criminal.

  3. Political correctness is now seeping so far into the military that it is alienating servicemen.....

    this is a troubling sign.

    1. i wrote a post where i said that Marines are quiet and that is a BAD thing. no one is saying anything but you can bet all this is pissing off everyone.

the pushback is going to be extreme. Obama and AMOS have fucked the Marine Corps. a day of reckoning is coming.

  4. I truly hope you are right about this day of reckoning Solomon. But the problem started well before Amos in my opinion and the problem is effecting all branches of the United States military.

I considered myself a patriot, but conditions like this where military effectiveness is sacrificed for "fairness" and servicemen and forced to undo reeducation on social matters... well that and all of our other mistakes in the past decade or so make it very hard for me to keep faith in my country.

  5. That Petty Officer whose weapon was snatched and used to shoot another sailor was a female.
That other male sailor was shot shielding her from the attacker.
Don't mean nothing except in hindsight.
The Overtly aggressive gay issue will be settled in the field with frags or accidents, just saying.
For the gay guys and girls that are good troopers and do their jobs despite their gayness acceptance will still not be 100% but their gayness will be overlooked due to their job performance.
The females in line companies I predict will vanish as the effects of combat shatters all illusions of being equal to the males.
Nothing like a good gut busting ground war to weed out the ones who are not able to survive such.
Sad but true, all you have to do is see what happens aboard a CV when a Forrestal event occurs.
I don't see any women able to toss bombs over the side to prevent detonation.
As it is, I wouldn't serve at this time in any military unit that has social issues as it's new mission.
