Chinese military forces massing on Vietnamese border!

Major thanks to Ryan12 for the link!

via EpochTimes
Troops, tanks, trucks, artillery, and armored personnel carriers of China’s military were seen heading to the Vietnamese border on May 16 and 17, according to photographs taken by by residents near the border.
Chinese netizens have been posting photographs of the large movement of the People’s Liberation Army, many of them showing Chinese troops in full combat gear heading to the local train station in Chongzuo, along with military vehicles.
One netizen said the Chinese military was taking the train from the Chongzuo station to Pingxiang City, which shares a 60-mile border with Vietnam. The netizen said that the Huu Nghi Border Gate to Vietnam is also now closed.
One of the photos, taken from inside a passenger train, shows the Chinese military preparing artillery for transport on a train track. Others show Chinese troops and military vehicles traveling along dirt roads.
Another photograph shows troops walking under the red-colored entrance to the Longzhou International Building Materials Market, on Provincial Road in the city of Chongzuo.
reverse image search of each of the photographs using Googleindicated that the photographs had appeared on the Internet only recently. Most were indexed by Google on Saturday.
Collectively, the images and eyewitness reports from the ground show what Taiwanese media are calling an “endless stream” of Chinese troops.
OK.

Conspiracy tin foil hat is on.

Did you wonder why the Obama Administration decided today was a good day to charge several Chinese officials with internet spying?

I believe its obvious now.  They're trying to signal the Chinese not to do anything against the Vietnamese!

We all know that the Obama Administration is viewed as being weak and the Chinese have an axe to grind with the Vietnamese...after all they don't take kindly to having their asses kicked in the 79 (I believe it was that year) border war.

This is amazing.

The Chinese are about to do a Crimea and if I'm right the biggest stick we have against them is to charge a handful of officials with cyber crime.

UPDATE:  Another piece in this puzzle fell into place.  The Chinese Navy has been evacuating its citizens from Vietnam after deadly rioting broke out and the Chinese were singled out for abuse.  The reason for the riots?  Chinese oil derrick in Vietnamese waters.  This could get ugly.

  1. This is about the Chinese drilling rig that set up in Vietnamese waters last week, meant to deter, i.e. bully, the Vietnamese from responding with force against the operation.

  2. Get ready for the Chinese Version of Crimea. I'll bet ya that China will pull their version of Crimea on Vietnam and the Philippines.

    1. This is not a Chinese version of Crimea. Vietnam, unlike Ukraine, is politically united and is bound by the collective hatred of China and Chinese, so the Vietnamese population is willing to make any sacrifice to defeat the Chinese, the same will power that allowed North Vietnamese to defeat the US.

    2. Finally, those newly trained Kilo submarine crews will get some "Under Duress" action. Lets see those so called "Indian Trained" vietnamese crews now. You'd think that the Indian Ministry of Defence will have a couple of navy officers embedded with those crews in secret.

  5. I have never seen any evidence that Obama does much of anything, in an executive sense. He doesn't manage affairs, affairs (and other people) manage him.
These hacking charges came out of a grand jury in Pittsburgh, initiated by a local government attorney who probably has political intentions. They deal with old charges of hacking, the same sort of thing that the NSA regularly does.

I wouldn't read too much into it, myself. Just more confusion in Washington, with negative impacts. It sandbags SecState Kerry's joint effort with the Chinese to examine the whole cyber area, for one thing. For another, it drives China further away and into the joint Russia-China camp that these two countries will probably share as US pariahs.
Congrats, Washington -- the longstanding goal of keeping China and Russia apart is history.

    1. Well Putin has been meeting with Chinese leaders and has publicly stated that furthering relations with China is a top priority for Russia.

    2. Yup. China (like Germany) needs Russia's gas and oil.

      Delete
    3. Well, they don't need them that much. But Russia need to sell them and they need that very much. This time Russians go to China, ride a love train in to ass of Dragon and beg them to buy resources from them in larger number. Russian economy is going down in rapid way, they need money and China is the best sources there.

Russian president go to China to sell gas... not Chinese go to Moscow to buy it. You can see who is the more important, the price will be as Chinese want's not Russians. Bear can only smile and say about "friendship" but they are on loosing side there.

    4. Germany doesn't need Russia's gas that much.
      Here are the official figures:
      http://www.bafa.de/bafa/de/energie/erdgas/ausgewaehlte_statistiken/egashist.pdf
3,744,750 TJ (Tera Joule) were imported in 2013.
      1,448,087 TJ from Russia.
on the other side Germany also exported
      814,929 TJ
So the without exports Germany could pass on without Russian gas.

    1. i'm not getting the significance of that statement. are you saying that because they're a Chinese spiritual group that they can't break news of Chinese military movements?

or are you saying that news that comes from sources other than those approved by you or a governmental agency is to be doubted and discounted out of hand?

did you even read the article?

according to the Epoch Times, the photos are all from the Chinese internet. additionally they state that the time stamps from the photos are from the past saturday.

you left out one thing though.

while you attempted to cast doubt on the Epoch Times you did not state that the reports are false. having read a number of your comments i am sure that if these reports were false you would have stated that at the beginning. you did not.

    2. Falung Gong is an anti-Chicom group. Their news coverage has zero credibility, that's a known fact.

    3. i know no such thing. your analysis is flawed and your prejudice obvious. these guys can report news just like anyone else can. welcome to 21st century news reporting. its a collective not a monopoly held by the like of the New York Times, Washington Post or BBC.

they're as credible as anyone else.

  7. We should start a game........The Weakest Linnk. Since China accuses the world of forming an anti-china alliance surrounding them, its only logical that we take a look at the weakest link in this alleged anti china chain. I say Alleged because what good is a chain if its not interlinked.....in every sence of that word. Links starting from South Korea all the way to well, whatever country "YOU" think should be there in the end of the arc. Or for that matter any country You think should be part of that arc and why ?

    3. Sarabvir Singh: I bet you can see my grinning face from there!
      Weakest link?
      As in easy to KO?
Military wise the Philippines are weakest they would have to go guerilla juramentado to even fight after the Chinese took out their forces. Not that the Pinay and Pinoy won't put up a fight.
Second weakest is Taiwan. It is an Island nation. It can be isolated. It's ports and approaches for sea commerce are subject to mines.
The strongest are the Japanese who once got going would be hell on wheels.
The RoKs are the baddest dogs on the block their problem is like Taiwan, peninsula easy to isolate by Naval forces. An air blockade would stop resup by air.

      What's your take?

      Delete
    4. hmm...my take is something thats gonna be sacrilige to all and sundry here. All above mentioned countries have armies who last fired shots in anger back when Hitler and Stalin and Mao were playing their tricks. The last time the Japanese navy did something was when they had aircraft carriers. The last time the SOuth Koreans did action was when McArthur was around. That was the time when the Chinese Forces actually engaged US in Korea forces at the Corps level. True, the action was unbalanced in your favour during the late fighting. There is not one Japanese General who has led in combat, ditto for Brigadiers, Colonels, Majors, Captains, Lt's, JCO/NCO's to the Private/Rifleman. True, the philipines have some counter insurgency experience. But that pales in comparison to what the chinese will do. If only the vietnamese were as poor now as they were in the 1960/70's, that poverty related helplesslenss and the idea of hope through combat produced an unmovable enemy.

    5. And off course, India will never fight the chinese. Not unless that is the bare last resort, then and only then shall we fight. And now we can actually relax knowing that thanks to Chinese arrogance, american and rimpac speedbreakers, the chinese are gonna be soo distracted near their own shores for the next 10-20 years that they will keep their Land Border dispute with us on the back burner. That time will be spent building up our own forces and seeing if Pakistan Implodes on its own and we have Mullah Zombies by the millions streaming into India. Either way, Interesting times we live in. Seeing that I am currently just a short way from the Paki border now, thats a nice thought.

    6. Anyway, before any fight, hard core diplomacy and shake downs come first. And in that, you can be assured that we can provide atleast......atleast 400,000 men pre-acclimatized to the Himalayan condition and equipped with the latest swiss mountain climbing gear led by officers and JCO/NCO's who've actually killed men, participated in Operation Brass Tacks, IPKF (Sri Lanka), Operation Vijay (Kargil Incursion), Operation Parakram. Those generals and officers, Enlisted men etc. still serve. In a merit based org. they have only gone up in rank, not cast aside as over active threats in a Political based army. You'l need people who have catered to million man prolonged military deployments and are known to provide logistics, economic support, minimal/controllable war weariness effect, ability to take a multi-billion hit on financial/property markets etc and stil say....I want War.................Oh Old Skool Vietnam....where art thou ? India has taken those hits and can take some more but for a war thats primarily Eastern Asian......we really have to choose well.

    7. My advice to Sarabvir Singh would be: get off your medication pronto ! Or maybe start taking it again, if you have stopped, because you come accross as slightly out of touch with reality ! Time for a brain/reality check ... You sound like a teenage game addict on a ego-power trip ... Besides, last time I checked, you got your ass kicked by the Chinese in 62 mountain war ... And the only other vaguely organized force that your army ever beat is the Pakistani army. Judging by the state of decrepitude the pakistani forces were in the last time i was in the area, the fact that India beat them (three times, i'll give you that) shouldn't count much more on a scale of conventional warfare than beating the iraqi army in 1991 ... so don't be too cocky and don't kid yourself about your model army ... you get into a fight with the Chinese, you gonna get roughed up pretty bad ! Interesting times indeed ...

    8. Hecate, like i said in the begining of the comments......my views will be sacrilige. I have no idea which places in Pakistan or India you have visited so i am keen to know more about that. As regards a model army comment...it might not be a model army now but whatever i have qouted...figures, acclimitization, mountain gear etc. they are a reality. And i have not even mentioned the new program for hardened airfields, missile silos etc. Whatever i have qouted here, i have also seen in real life by actually being there and not 2nd or 3rd hand info read from some report or googled. And yes, thank you for recognizing the video game streak in me but getting confused about my age. Your comment does have a slighty insulting tone....may i know what particular line did i say to bring out your inner green monster?....any nationality that i offended, any religion etc ?.....I realyl do wanna know. About the chinese war....yes off course we got our ass kicked. Thats what happens when you go to war over stupid causes and fight without the same PREREQUISITES that i have mentioned in my earlier comments. Your intake from my comments should be knowledge and wisdom my friend....not slight and bitterness.

      Delete
    9. And one more thing Hecate, that Cocky comment. Have some respect about the country whose enemies you have supplied in billions. Have some decency about the people of that country that have died becasue you lost your interest in your Mullah Brigade after the soviets left and through deliberate ignorance supported pakistan to use those very mad mullahs against us. You had your turning point in September 11, 2001.....we have had it since 1987-88. Yet you see only respect if with a little arrogance from us to you. What you do not see is Nuclear Proliferation to enemies, defence espionage of the highest order, missile tech proliferation, deliberate patent infringment on defence goods, an agenda designed to kill americans etc. So the next time you say cocky to anyone.....be care full of all the death and destruction you have caused. And how certain nations absorb all of that Shit...and still remain genuinly friendly. So the next time you want the aid of an army that has been fighting the good fight since world war 1......give us a call.

      Delete
    10. watch your mouth and have a care. i don't mind pissing matches...they make the day more interesting but if you want to America bash then you're on your way to getting banned.

    11. As I said, Singh, I get the impression you're slightly off your meds ... It was just my way of giving you some friendly advice. I have nothing against your country. Regarding the rest of your endless blaberring, i didnt get through all of it, sorry.
As for my credentials, i'm a veteran of two wars and have been in AFPAK area (as private citzen) between 2006 and 2009. I just don't like people who do the talking, when others will do the dying.
So if you're in the service and you're hoping for a fight with the Chinese, consider my comment as null and void, but good luck with that kicking chinese butt enterprise of yours, you'll need it ! If not, better take a more realistic and peaceful stance on sending other men to war.

  8. The ’79 ground invasion was a fiasco for PLA. However two sides also fought several brief naval battles in the 1980’s, Vietnam got their ass kicked big time. If a new conflict is about to break between these two goons, it will be a quick air-and sea-borne struggle, I’m afraid Vietnam doesn’t stand a chance. Their naval and air forces are simply no match for the Chinese.

    1. There it is. Third world nation vs an almost first rate superpower with no conscious.

  9. The Vietnamese have gotten their collective butts kicked several times, at least three by the US, no follow up, no invasion of the north signaled US had no intention of going all the way.
During the last stages of the 72 offensive PAVN units ran out of steam and ammo the ports were mined the missiles even dried up, The US won but stopped and that led to a retrograde by the government who just wanted to unass the AOE.
1968 and 69 was defeats for the PAVN and VC 1965 was a wet landing that went uncontested.
A whole lot of war cred has been heaped on Vietnamese (not that they weren't some bad ass l'il bass turds, they were!) when the truth is they are and were a third world nation with no military power outside their little country and if the CCCP and China had not supplied them with arms and support, the anti wars had not rioted until everyone was sick of it then Vietnam would have gone the way of Korea 1953.
Not that that would have been a good thing in hindsight.
They are tough fighters BUT against a secondary super power like China the results will be bloody but end in a Chinese victory. The Chinese after all are a Nuclear power and if they can in cold blood run down their own Chinese students with tanks they can damn well in cold blood nuke shit outa Hanoi.
Only if the Chinese operate with restraint will the Vietnamese come out with a draw, China after all is not the US and they are Asian which means, like the Russian's they have no qualms about killing.
I'd say lets see what happens before we make pre war statements of who is the big dog on the block.
