Seriously, though... Any air force that needs to deal with those sort of conditions on a regular basis should just short-list the Gripen and be done with it.
the idea of a plane maintaining its stealth in those type of conditions or aboard ship is laughable. don't get it twisted, i still think the program is as fraudulent as fuck, i just like the artwork...i am a fan of fiction afterall.
Not just the icy and windy winters, also the hot summers and dusty and nasty bases abroad will be a challenge for this expensive complex and delicate high tech low/ performance air plane. The mantinance will be a nightmare.
It does make me wonder though... How easy would it be to stealth-ify a 747? Tweak the shape, so that you have a 'seam' poking out from the side of the fuselage, then make sure the wing 'seams' match up.
