J-31 on flight deck of Chinese aircraft carrier via Chinese Military Review.

One question.

Why would the Chinese release a photo of their stealth fighter on an under construction aircraft carrier?

  1. That's not a carrier under construction, but a training center building.

    2. According to Chinese Military Review it's a replica Jet on a replica aircraft carrier.

    6. Relax Sol. Multiple viewpoints and assumption-checking is what blog comments are for.

    7. Hell, the J-31 is probably a wood mockup akin to the F-35 ones that the new British carriers are deploying with. :)

    8. Whoa Sol' easy lad, easy... they are right, this is the training facility of PLAN. The famous concert "carrier" that serve as pretty impressive training facility for future carrier wings. About the plane... well on globalsecurity I saw some graphics with carrier version of it, tailhook and stuff. It can be only a wet dream but indeed this can be something in it. Also it would be simple logic to test the carrier version in 1:1 scale carrier training facility with every deck equipment the real ship have.

But I also agree with SandWyrm, this is probably a wood mockup or no flying platform. This pic is classic Chinese internet "rumor", not the first, not the last one.

  3. All I want to know, is who let the hot chic dressed like little red riding hood on the flight deck?

    1. Obviously it's a red-shirt that beamed down from the Enterprise, about to be run over by the J-31. ;)
