This is the light missile, there will be/should be a heavy missile too. Why the RN didn't place any importance on outfitting Merlin with a heavy ASuW missile from the get go is one of those unfathomable mysteries of our time.
Actually it's both. FASGW light is shown on the inside pylons with FASGW heavy on the outer pylons.
Whats the US equivalent of this missile ? Something that can be used to take smaller ships like patrol boats and missile boats ?
Hellfire, pretty much, I think.But its also (in theory) going to end up on light armoured vehicles (so TOW), ships, maybe even infantry.
