    I guess it comes in handy when the VBSS target has a convenient 60' helipad on the fantail, and is laid out like an American warship.

    So that would be how many such civilian ships, BTW?

    If they're just going to simulate the training, they could be doing this all the livelong day and night with conex boxes on flat ground at Pendleton and Lejeune, (let alone use idle/mothballed dissimilar ships on both coasts) and save a lot of time, gas, and wear and tear on the -53. I'd rather see them working their way through an oiltanker in Long Beach, Frisco, or some East Coast port, and let the pilot try hitting that on a hover with a fastrope. And then try it at night.

    Unless this is the "crawl" part of crawl-walk-run training, they're just killing time.

    The only person doing his actual job to spec there was the cameraman.
