American Sniper divides Hollywood via GruntWorks

I am amazed at how the political elites and Hollywood are having such a hard time dealing with the success that is the movie American Sniper.

Even more puzzling is that I view  it more as a macho love story...a romance story for guys more than an absolute war flick.

Having said all that I'm paying attention.  The actors that support it.  The "elites" (Michael Moore you fat bastard...I'm talking about you) that come out against it...and all the sheeple in between that attempt to throw rocks at the story of a real deal stud.

If you haven't gone to the movie then add it to your "to do" list.

SNAFU! Blog rating?  10 out of 10!

  1. I loved the movie and i respect the story and man, but i was disappointed in a few of the choices that were made by the director (who is a stud). 1. I don't understand why you would choose to use a diesel powered m-48/60 chassis with a mock Abrams turret, especially when so many of us viewers are prior service and will notice, seems like a dumb place to get cheap, and in the opening scene. 2. I didn't like how the Enlisted Marines were/are portrayed. I understand that it was the directors choice and that used the contrast between the Marines and the Chief to add foundation to his character, i just don't think cheapening our imagine was necessary to accomplish his goal. 3. I don't like the unsat manner in which his "brother" wore his blues at his wedding, two sizes too big.

Loved the movie, needs to be seen, and those Hollywood types, can eat a dick! Also, weird experience at the end of the movie the entire audience was very solemn as they left. I have never experienced that before.

    1. i noticed the same but with the tank i figured that the Pentagon just didn't get aboard and help like they have with many other projects that were less worthy. as far as how Marines were portrayed i have mixed feelings on it but arrived at the same place as you did. they needed to contrast Navy SEALs with Marines. Marines have been considered the elite for so long that you have to work real hard to make us seem like boobs in movies (although all these new gen types that are putting up these cheesey ass videos are making it easier and easier....i still have an open appointment for those bastards that thought singing Frozen and posting it on YouTube was a good idea...ass whipping imminent)....Clint is a big time supporter of the military and i know he has love for Marines so i'll take it as a movie thing to highlight Kyle as being the baddest of the bad. i can't explain the brother...that was just lazy work on the part of the movie advisors (and lets not forget that they' were all SEALs)......

a love story with a sad ending. solemn is as it should be.

    3. yeah i saw that. i want to know who keeps writing ATF asking for permission and then i want to know when they built all the jail cells for people that will be breaking that "rule". ain't no way they can stop it so they should have simply ignored it...but we are talking about the ATF so stupid is as stupid does.

    4. Media hype blew this flick completely out of proportion. As for hollywood types i wouldn't bother as these are make pretend types and turn which ever way the wind blows.

I do not know if we watched the same movie but Clint let the ball drop big time Angelina would make better move 100%.(watch '71)

Who were the advisors on the movie as attention to details sucks big time some things are downright silly and sniping aspect is not even remotely captured ,the shit you see like the wobly water tank position shooting ,2000m head shot etc never happened even in your dreams ,poor sniping hides ,phone calls every firefight come on WTF etc it seems only advisor was Kyles wife.
Cooper's great and saves what is possible but he can't make miracles. Definetly not a movie anyone will want to look at decade from now.

At least someone took a at least a bit critical look because it seems taboo to even consider a bad review ,read this.

    5. As for the bad tank, this movie was shot partly in Morocco for the "Iraq" exterior shots- I'd imagine that the Moroccan government didn't have any M-1 tanks to lend to the production....

  4. I saw it thought it was a great movie and for 99% of America, it will be their only view into the military. Would you expect any difference from Micheal Moore and the rest of Hollywood? None of them served or capable of doing so. Here is a good article on the military and movies: http://taskandpurpose.com/inside-look-hollywood-screws-portrayals-military/

  5. Movie wasn't that great. Not bad, mind you, but not fantastic. It seemed like Eastwood was checking the boxes and the character arcs were shallow.

still it beats the shit out of "Heartbreak Ridge"
